Su Min Cho, MD, MRCP, is a gastroenterologist and certified in gastroenterology as well as internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Cho obtained her medical degree from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in London, UK.
She completed an internal medicine residency at St. George’s University College London in the UK. She obtained membership in Royal College of Physicians in London. She trained in a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship in Hammersmith Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London prior to moving to Pittsburgh in 2005.
After moving to Pittsburgh, she completed additional training in an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology/hepatology/nutrition fellowship at UPMC.
Dr. Cho’s clinical interests include general gastroenterology, in particular inflammatory bowel disease.
She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Cho co-authored several peer-reviewed papers as well as book chapters.
Dr. Cho’s practice is based at UPMC Shadyside, Digestive Health and Endoscopy Center, UPMC East, and the UPMC Outpatient Center in Pittsburgh’s South Hills.
She is fluent in Korean and English.

Dr. Cho is warm, caring and compassionate. She seems up to date on my lab work and other health concerns during my appointments.

Dr. Cho is wonderful, she is the first Dr I ever had that listened to me. She took care of me and didn't ignore my symptoms. She recognized my GI symptoms were not GI related but GYN related. She ordered the tests I needed to further investigate my issues. She helped provide my new OBGYN Dr with imaging to initiate care for me. I ended up needing to have surgery to remove what was a benign mass thankfully, but might have turned into something else if not taken care of sooner. Dr. Cho saved me.

Dr. Cho is a caring, knowledgeable, attentive physician. She is very easy to talk with and answers questions in a way that is easy to understand. I felt very at ease during my appointment.

Dr. Cho gave me her full attention, I felt listened to and very comfortable with the plan she suggested. She is incredibly competent in her care of patients with GI symptoms and most importantly, she is empathic to the emotional needs or worries that come with having GI symptoms.
