Louis Rapkin, MD, is a pediatric hematologist oncologist and is certified in pediatric hematology oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is clinical director of oncology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, followed by his fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Rapkin’s clinical interests include the treatment of rare cancers in children, adolescent and young adult oncology, and medical education. He is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group, American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Rapkin has lived in Pittsburgh since 2017 and he and his family have enjoyed becoming Yinzers.
